Its official, the 2015 road race season is underway. March 8th new team member Frankie T made his cat 5 racing debut in fine fashion finishing 4th at the William and Mary Tidewater Classic down in Williamsburg, VA. Not a flat course by Eastern Shore standards, Frankie’s hard work on the road and the gym paid dividends as the OVC roadie had a blast in his first race. Congrats Frankie!
RIR Crit:
This past Sunday, Dean P traveled to Richmond, VA to race at the RIR (Richmond International Raceway) Criterium. Never one to run from the competition, Dean tested his early spring fitness by doubling up in both the men’s 35/45/55 combined and the men’s pro 123 race. After placing an impressive 15th in the Pro 123 earlier in the day, Dean had to line up with a stacked field of master’s racers later that day and continuing where he left off last year, Dean would finish 5th overall (1st place men's 45 plus) out of the 45 finishers on the very windy NASCAR oval. Nice win Mr Pierson!
Looks like the OVC winter training rides prepared both Dean and Frankie quite well for their 2015 road racing season openers. Great job guys!
