OVC Saturday Group Training Ride Recap:

With a week of frigid temps, close to 30 riders grabbed their bikes and rolled out of Specific Gravity and took advantage of a warm and calm morning in early January. On tap Saturday for OVC/Culver & Pierson were 60 miles of tempo and possibly a fast finish on Johnson Rd. Making their way on course, the brisk pace would claim a few victims before the peloton even reached the crossroads.

With the no regroup protocol in force, the field would continue its journey east without the dropped riders and with the exception of one more rider losing his place on the Black n Blue Train, the rest would forge ahead and it wasn’t until the final few miles on Johnson Rd that the peloton (as expected) would become unraveled. The video will provide a great narrative for those precious epic final few kilometers on Johnson. Enjoy!

A big shout out to all the riders for a great winter training ride…and to the majority of the starters who finished and covered the 60 mile parcours in a few ticks less than 3 hours. Just as important as the ride itself, most of the peloton would grab a seat at Gravity for some fire brick oven pizza and a round or two of finely crafted brews complements of our generous sponsor Culver & Pierson Housing Solutions. Thanks Dean P!

With the weather hopefully cooperating on Sunday, hope to see some of you tomorrow at EVO for a few more hours of valuable winter endurance training miles.
